Alexander Roddy is a saxophonist from Dallas, Texas, and a senior jazz performance major at Texas State University in San Marcos. He began his musical journey at the age of ten on clarinet, later discovering the tenor saxophone at seventeen during his final year of high school. At Texas State, Roddy has studied under esteemed professors Dr. Russell Haight and Dr. Joey Colarusso.
Beyond his academic work, Roddy has built an active performing career across Austin and San Antonio, appearing regularly as both a bandleader and sideman. His versatility spans jazz, pop, salsa, and funk, and he has shared the stage with an array of local and nationally recognized artists, including Terrell Stafford, Isrea Butler, Lee “Sparky” Thomason, Damian Garcia, Carter Arrington, Tito Carrillo, Joey Colarusso, and many others.
