Roberto Aponte Quartet

Roberto Aponte leads a dynamic ensemble that blends the rich traditions of jazz with the vibrant energy of Latin, funk, and cinematic music. A skilled saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist, Roberto honed his craft in South Austin and San Marcos, earning a degree in Jazz Studies from Texas State University. Deeply influenced by jazz legends like Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Thad Jones, he brings a deep appreciation for improvisation and storytelling to his performances. Backed by a powerhouse lineup—Blake O’Neal on guitar, Milo Hehmsoth on piano, David Heyn on bass, and Israel Yanez on drums—the group delivers a compelling mix of styles, seamlessly shifting from classic jazz to Latin grooves and beyond.
