Frank Chapa Trio

Frank Chapa is a Central Texas saxophonist and bandleader whose sound moves naturally through classic swing, cool jazz, Latin jazz, blues, and modern interpretations of the jazz tradition.

Based in the San Marcos area, Chapa has become a familiar presence on the Central Texas jazz scene, performing in duo, trio, and quartet settings and bringing a warm, expressive approach to both alto and tenor saxophone. His playing balances sophistication with an easygoing feel, making his music equally at home in an intimate listening room or as the soundtrack to a relaxed evening out.

Chapa has performed at respected jazz venues throughout the region and has also contributed to contemporary recording projects, showing a range that stretches from timeless standards to more modern and experimental jazz.
