Jazzablanca – A Fusion of Jazz, Soul, and Global Rhythms

Led by the multifaceted musician Francis McGrath, Jazzablanca is a genre-defying ensemble that blends jazz, soul, and global influences into a dynamic and unforgettable musical experience. With deep roots in improvisation and storytelling, the band seamlessly fuses elements of swing, funk, Latin rhythms, and cinematic soundscapes, captivating audiences with their rich textures and bold arrangements.

Frontman Francis McGrath is a composer, poet, pianist, synthesizer player, bass player, and punster hailing from Austin, Texas. He has released two self-produced albums—“No Less Days” and “Trains in the Night”—and in 2022, he composed the award-winning soundtrack for the film “Station to Station.” A veteran of the Austin music scene, McGrath has performed with numerous bands, most notably with The Greatest American Heroes, known as “Austin’s Favorite TV Theme Band.” His poetic work has been published in Diverse-City, the journal of the Austin International Poetry Festival, and he is a two-time winner of the O. Henry Pun-Off’s Punniest of Show.

Jazzablanca’s live performances are immersive journeys, blending intricate musicianship with expressive improvisation. Whether performing jazz standards, original compositions, or unexpected reimaginings, the band’s ability to connect with audiences sets them apart. Their music is a celebration of jazz’s past, present, and limitless future.

Welcome to the sound of Jazzablanca—where tradition meets innovation, and every note tells a story.
