Jerry Espinoza Quartet

Jerry Espinoza is a Central Texas saxophonist and bandleader known for his rich tone, deep jazz vocabulary, and high-energy improvisation. Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, Espinoza began playing saxophone at age 12 and was already performing professionally by 14.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in classical saxophone performance and a master’s degree in jazz studies, and has continued advanced doctoral work in jazz studies. A versatile and in-demand musician, Espinoza performs across Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth, bringing fluency in jazz, pop, salsa, and other styles to the bandstand.
His performance résumé includes appearances alongside respected jazz artists including Gerry Gibbs, Butch Miles, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Dave Weckl, Andre Hayward, Terell Stafford, Pete Rodriguez, and Ralph Bowen. In 2023, he was featured as a saxophonist on Gerry Gibbs’ album Family.
With his quartet, Espinoza brings a bold, swinging sound rooted in tradition but alive with modern fire, offering audiences a true listening-room jazz experience.
