JOSHUA ALDERETE & THE FELLOWSHIP

Joshua Alderete is a dedicated musician and bandleader based in Central Texas, originally from Pasadena, Texas. With over 15 years of experience as a drummer, Joshua has spent more than a decade immersed in the rich musical landscape of South and Central Texas, working as a full-time musician and collaborator.
Joshua is a founding member of The Fellowship, a jazz ensemble known for its seamless fusion of jazz, funk, neo-soul, bebop, Latin, and other stylistic influences. Formed in 2018 in San Marcos, Texas, The Fellowship began as a collective project led by visionary musicians and grounded in the spirit of collaboration. The band’s original lineup featured Gerardo Espinoza on tenor saxophone, Christopher Villanueva on piano, Andrew Harkey on bass, and Joshua Alderete on drums, whose dynamic and expressive playing anchors the group’s sound.
In 2020, The Fellowship relocated to San Antonio, expanding its presence and influence within the regional jazz scene. Joshua later moved to Austin, Texas in 2022, further broadening the ensemble’s reach across Central Texas. Today, The Fellowship is a rotating collective of highly skilled jazz artists who share a deep passion for the music and a commitment to artistic growth.
