SUMMARY:Jaymie Graves & the Strays
DESCRIPTION:Jaymie Graves and the Strays bring a playful\, sophisticated mix of jazz\, swing\, blues\, and reimagined favorites to the Central Texas music scene. Leading the group on vocals and flute\, Jaymie Graves moves easily from smoky standards and romantic ballads to bossa nova\, soulful blues\, and unexpected selections drawn from across the American songbook. \nThe group’s repertoire reaches from timeless songs such as “The Girl from Ipanema” and “I Only Have Eyes for You” to music associated with Frank Sinatra and beyond—a wide-ranging approach they describe as traveling “from Sinatra to Strait.” Jaymie’s flute adds a distinctive melodic voice to the arrangements\, while the Strays provide a versatile foundation of guitar\, keyboards\, bass\, drums\, and supporting vocals. \nPreviously appearing as the Jaymie Graves Jazz Odyssey\, the project has evolved into Jaymie Graves and the Strays: a lively ensemble built around expressive vocals\, spontaneous musicianship\, and songs audiences recognize and love. Their performances are polished without feeling overly formal\, balancing vintage jazz-club charm with an easygoing Texas personality. \nAt the Brass Peacock\, expect an evening that is soulful\, swinging\, and just a little unpredictable—classic melodies\, creative arrangements\, and the warm\, engaging presence of Jaymie Graves at the center of it all.

SUMMARY:Joshua Alderete & The Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:Joshua Alderete is a drummer\, bandleader\, and full-time musician whose sound is rooted in deep groove\, collaboration\, and the living language of jazz. Originally from Pasadena\, Texas\, Joshua has spent more than 15 years refining his craft and over a decade performing across the rich musical landscape of Texas. \nHe is a founding member of The Fellowship\, a dynamic ensemble formed in San Marcos in 2018 and built on the creative chemistry of Gerardo Espinoza on tenor saxophone\, Christopher Villanueva on piano\, Andrew Harkey on bass\, and Joshua’s expressive\, driving work behind the drums. Blending jazz\, funk\, neo-soul\, bebop\, Latin rhythms\, and other soulful influences\, The Fellowship creates music that feels both sophisticated and alive\, a conversation between tradition and fresh energy. \nAfter relocating to San Antonio in 2020 and later expanding his musical reach into Austin\, Joshua has continued to grow The Fellowship into a collective of talented jazz artists united by passion\, musicianship\, and shared purpose. More than a band\, The Fellowship is a musical community\, one built on connection\, improvisation\, and the belief that music can bring people together across backgrounds and generations. \nWith Joshua Alderete at the helm\, The Fellowship delivers a sound that is vibrant\, soulful\, and deeply rooted in the spirit of jazz. Their performances invite audiences into something more than a show: a shared experience of rhythm\, unity\, and musical joy.
