With over 15 years of experience as a drummer\, Joshua has spent more than a decade immersed in the rich musical landscape of South and Central Texas\, working as a full-time musician and collaborator. \nJoshua is a founding member of The Fellowship\, a jazz ensemble known for its seamless fusion of jazz\, funk\, neo-soul\, bebop\, Latin\, and other stylistic influences. Formed in 2018 in San Marcos\, Texas\, The Fellowship began as a collective project led by visionary musicians and grounded in the spirit of collaboration. The band’s original lineup featured Gerardo Espinoza on tenor saxophone\, Christopher Villanueva on piano\, Andrew Harkey on bass\, and Joshua Alderete on drums\, whose dynamic and expressive playing anchors the group’s sound. \nIn 2020\, The Fellowship relocated to San Antonio\, expanding its presence and influence within the regional jazz scene. Joshua later moved to Austin\, Texas in 2022\, further broadening the ensemble’s reach across Central Texas.
