He currently offers “Jazz Worship” services for churches throughout Texas\, blending his passion for faith and jazz in a unique musical experience. \nDave is no stranger to the stage—or below it—having played in the pit for more than 60 musical theater productions at the Georgetown Palace Theater and Austin’s Zach Theater. DESCRIPTION:Dave Lee (Trumpet) has been an active part of the Austin music scene since moving from the Pacific Northwest in 2001. A versatile freelance musician\, Dave performs regularly with NAJO\, Mainstream Jazz (his own big band and combo)\, the Ken Ragsdale Orchestra\, and various jazz and pop ensembles across Austin\, Houston\, and surrounding areas. \nIn addition to performing\, Dave teaches private trumpet lessons in the Pflugerville and Round Rock school districts and brings over 40 years of experience in music ministry. He currently offers “Jazz Worship” services for churches throughout Texas\, blending his passion for faith and jazz in a unique musical experience. \nDave is no stranger to the stage—or below it—having played in the pit for more than 60 musical theater productions at the Georgetown Palace Theater and Austin’s Zach Theater. Every summer\, he shares his expertise as a faculty member at the Texas Jazz and Blues Camp. \nAnd while his musical résumé is impressive\, Dave’s proudest (and possibly most delicious) achievement remains winning the enchilada/taco eating contest during his college band tour.

Born and raised in Laredo\, Texas\, Espinoza began playing saxophone at age 12 and was already performing professionally by 14. \nHe holds a bachelor’s degree in classical saxophone performance and a master’s degree in jazz studies\, and has continued advanced doctoral work in jazz studies. A versatile and in-demand musician\, Espinoza performs across Austin\, San Antonio\, Houston\, Dallas\, and Fort Worth\, bringing fluency in jazz\, pop\, salsa\, and other styles to the bandstand. \nHis performance résumé includes appearances alongside respected jazz artists including Gerry Gibbs\, Butch Miles\, Jeff “Tain” Watts\, Dave Weckl\, Andre Hayward\, Terell Stafford\, Pete Rodriguez\, and Ralph Bowen. In 2023\, he was featured as a saxophonist on Gerry Gibbs’ album Family. \nWith his quartet\, Espinoza brings a bold\, swinging sound rooted in tradition but alive with modern fire\, offering audiences a true listening-room jazz experience.
