Joshua Alderete & The Fellowship

Joshua Alderete is a drummer, bandleader, and full-time musician whose sound is rooted in deep groove, collaboration, and the living language of jazz. Originally from Pasadena, Texas, Joshua has spent more than 15 years refining his craft and over a decade performing across the rich musical landscape of Texas.

He is a founding member of The Fellowship, a dynamic ensemble formed in San Marcos in 2018 and built on the creative chemistry of Gerardo Espinoza on tenor saxophone, Christopher Villanueva on piano, Andrew Harkey on bass, and Joshua’s expressive, driving work behind the drums. Blending jazz, funk, neo-soul, bebop, Latin rhythms, and other soulful influences, The Fellowship creates music that feels both sophisticated and alive, a conversation between tradition and fresh energy.

After relocating to San Antonio in 2020 and later expanding his musical reach into Austin, Joshua has continued to grow The Fellowship into a collective of talented jazz artists united by passion, musicianship, and shared purpose. More than a band, The Fellowship is a musical community, one built on connection, improvisation, and the belief that music can bring people together across backgrounds and generations.
